Books in the 21th century

Some US Republican found out what books are really good for.

With all these great television shows and drugs out there, what are books really good for nowadays? I mean there is no book you cannot press into a 200 minute blockbuster, right? You do not even have to read the Bible and Qur'an by yourself anymore, since George and Ali are citing the coolest paragraphs anyway each time you see them on TV.

So what to do with all these worthless books. Burn them? Well, here is someone with a more practical idea:

Finally, the use of books as defensive shields are raising a few questions:
  • Can I use the bible to protect myself from a AK47 and still go to heaven?
  • May I buy satanist, unamerican literature such as Chomsky, Ruff, Updike or the Bill Of Rights, if I promise to use them only for self defense?
